24-year-old Joseph Jovanni Carrera, a Starbucks employee, had a domestic altercation with his mother, Irene Carrera, and his brother, Alex Carrera, at their Iris Lane residence around 11:12 a.m. on June 9th. Officers were advised that while Joseph argued with Irene, he started pushing and yelling at her while breaking items in the house. Alex observed this and pushed Joseph to defend their mother. After this, Alex went to his bedroom and shut the door. Joseph then broke into Alex’s room, where he started hitting him. In response to being hit, Alex pushed Joseph back. After this, Joseph left the room and spat on Irene. Alex then held onto Irene to prevent Joseph from attacking her further. Joseph Carrera was taken into custody for two counts of domestic assault.

Kayla Ellis punches aunt with purple brass knuckles during argument

28-year-old Kayla Leeann Ellis had a domestic incident with her aunt, Latina Ellis, at her Peachers Mill Road residence around 4 p.m. on June 8th. Around 8:17 p.m., Latina alerted the authorities, advising them that she and Kayla had an argument that ended up outside. Kayla swung a punch at her and missed, so Latina retaliated and hit her. Then, Latina stated that Kayla punched her left arm. Latina stated when she looked down, she noticed Kayla wearing a pair of purple metallic brass knuckles and stopped the scuffle. Latina said Kayla and Crystal then went out for dinner, so she waited to call the police until they returned. When officers spoke with Kayla and a witness, Crystal Ellis, they told police that the altercation was strictly verbal. Kayla Ellis was later taken into custody for aggravated assault on June 9th.

Soldier Michael Crockett assaults wife during argument over childcare

35-year-old Michael Keith Crockett of the US Army had a domestic altercation with his wife, Kayla Penaranda, at their Magnolia Drive residence on June 8th. Crockett told responding officers that he and Penaranda had argued over their child’s care, during which he tried to take their kid from her. When they spoke with Penaranda, she stated Crockett restricted her movements while she held their kid. Penaranda said Crockett then pushed her, leaving a scratch on her right forearm. She said she did not believe he would hurt their child, but she was in fear for her safety during the incident. Officers reviewed footage of the occurrence, which showed Penaranda telling Crockett to call “911” due to her not feeling safe. Crockett replied that they do not handle domestic disputes. Crockett was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Soldier Deimien Betler speeds down Fort Campbell Boulevard at 103 mph

24-year-old Soldier Deimien Michael Betler sped his black motorcycle past officers near the Fort Campbell Boulevard Advanced Auto Parts on June 8th. Butler was clocked at 103 mph while in a 45 mph zone. Officers followed him to a Hadley Drive residence, where he was later identified and detained for the occurrence. Betler was taken into custody for drag racing.

Layla Montgomery chases group of people with car, corners them in alley at Culver’s

19-year-old Layla Danille Montgomery and a few unidentified individuals caused a disturbance at Culver’s around 5:04 p.m. on June 7th. The victims told responding officers that they were in the parking lot sitting in their vehicle when they observed Montgomery pulling up behind them in a black sedan with multiple occupants. Montgomery then approached the victim’s vehicle and demanded they get out of their car. The victims responded by driving away to a neighboring business. Montgomery chased after the victims until she had them cornered in an alley by parking the sedan at an angle, preventing them from leaving. Then, the victims stated Montgomery’s co-defendant exited the front passenger seat with a firearm and aimed it at them, telling them to get out. After the victims refused and tried escaping by driving against Montgomery’s vehicle, the co-defendant shot at them as they drove away. Officers obtained surveillance of the occurrence, corroborating the victims’ statements. After further investigating, they located Montgomery, who confessed to chasing the victims, blocking the vehicle’s path, and assisting her co-defendant in the confrontation. Montgomery was taken into custody for two counts of aggravated assault on June 8th.

Jeramey Hart drunkenly starts fire in WoodSprings Suites Hotel room

32-year-old Jeramey Michael Hart started a fire in his WoodSprings Suites room around 6:29 p.m. on June 7th. Camile Crane alerted the authorities to her establishment and advised them of the incident. Crane told officers she wanted one of her tenants, later identified as Hart, to leave. When officers informed Hart that he needed to leave, they noticed he reeked of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. Hart told police that he had no one to pick him up and didn’t have a place to go. Hart was deemed a danger to himself and placed into custody for public intoxication. Hart was previously arrested in March 2023 for assaulting his mother’s boyfriend.

Tylan Chism punches caretaker after being confronted for lighting cigarette with stove

21-year-old Tylan Omari Chism had two altercations with a live-in caretaker, Mr. Long, at their Marthas Chapel Road group home on June 7th. Officers first responded to the residence around 7:26 a.m. Officers spoke with Mr. Long, who stated he and Chism argued over him lighting a cigarette inside the house, which is prohibited. Then, Long said, during the dispute, Chism shoved him, but when officers questioned Chism about it, he denied any physical contact. Around 10:57 a.m., the police were called back to the group home. When police arrived, Long advised them that another argument ensued after Chism used the stove to light a cigarette. Long stated Chism punched him in the face twice. Again, Chism denied the claims but had an inconsistent story about what happened. While speaking with officers, he admitted to pushing Long. Chism was taken into custody for two counts of assault.

Brandon Hawkins slams roommate on ground multiple times during argument

28-year-old Brandon Deandre Hawkins had a domestic altercation with his roommate, Nia Tolbert, at their West Bel Air Boulevard residence around 1:17 a.m. on June 7th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Tolbert, who stated she and Hawkins had argued. Tolbert said the argument escalated when he wrapped his arms around her and picked her up off the ground. She stated Hawkins carried her out of their front door and slammed her onto the ground. Then, when Tolbert got to her feet, Hawkins slammed her again before doing it a third time. The repeated slams left several abrasions on her right leg and elbow. Hawkins was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

23-year-old Nathan Alexzander Holt had a domestic incident with his mother, Elizabeth Holt, at their Quail Ridge Road residence on June 6th. Elizabeth told responding officers that Nathan was cursing and told him to stop. Holt responded by grabbing her right arm and restricting her movements until a witness stepped in, causing him to let go. 60-year-old Dennis Hodges was involved in a domestic altercation with his stepson Lorenzo Mcmanus at a Cumberland Heights residence on June 3rd. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Monika Hodges, his wife, who stated that Mcmanus and Dennis had gotten into a disagreement. Hodges noted the disagreement was over Mcmanus paying the rent he owed Dennis. Both Mcmanus and Monika stated that Dennis became upset and pushed Mcmanus. This causing Mcmanus to fall and hurt himself. Officers observed Mcmanus to have minor cuts on his hands as well as a mark on the side of his face consistent with him being hit. Mcmanus told officers that he was punched and that Dennis threw several punches at him. Dennis was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

25-year-old Marteris Hill was involved in a domestic dispute with his mother at their Buchanon Drive residence on June 3rd. When officers arrived and spoke with Hill, he told them he didn’t remember anything happening. Officers then spoke with Hill’s mother. She stated that she and Hill got into an argument over money. During the argument, Hill got upset and hit her in the arm. She said Hill then took her phone and broke it. Marteris Hill was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Billy Rice booked after failing to appear in court for refusing to leave A&W Motel

36-year-old Billy Rice was seen publicly intoxicated at A&W Motel near Madison Street on June 21st, 2021. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Rice, who refused to leave the premises after being asked several times to leave by management. While officers were speaking with Rice, they noticed his unsteady feet, glassy eyes, and the odor of alcohol coming from him. Rice also admitted to officers that he had been drinking during the night. Rice was then given the opportunity to call for a ride but could not do so. Officers deemed Rice to be a danger to himself, so he was taken into custody for public intoxication. Rice failed to appear in court numerous times and was later arrested for Vandalism of utility lines and public intoxication on June 3rd, 2024.

Ivan Villa grabs girlfriend by neck, punches her in face during argument

31-year-old Ivan Villa was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Sarah Miller, at an Excell Road residence on June 2nd. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed Miller in a yellow tank top covered in blood, bleeding from her forehead. Officers spoke with Miller, who stated that she and Villa had gotten into an argument that turned physical. Miller informed officers that the altercation occurred over alcohol consumption. Miller claims that during the argument, Villa became enraged, grabbed her by the neck, and shoved her. Villa then punched her twice in the head and face. Officers then attempted to contact Villa via phone and in person. However, officers were unsuccessful, so they forced entry into the residence. Officers found Villa naked inside the home. Officers observed Miller’s injuries, which consisted of bruising to the left side of her neck as well as lacerations to her forehead and eyebrow. Both parties had been drinking, and Villa was deemed to be the primary aggressor. Villa was taken into custody for aggravated assault on June 3rd.

Chastity Buckner lies to police about tag theft to help her shoplifting case in Smyrna, TN

31-year-old Chastity Buckner was caught after making a false report to officers on March 14th at Governor Square Mall. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Buckner, who told officers that she was at the mall on November 27th, 2023, and the temporary tag to her vehicle had been stolen. When officers asked her why it took so long to report it, she claimed that she reported it to her dealership. Buckner added that they had her actual tag ready, so she did not think it mattered. Buckner told officers that she only called now because she learned of crimes that were committed in Smyrna, Tennessee, where the tag was used to identify and charge her. Officers then spoke with Smyrna police, who sent a police report showing that Buckner was identified as one of multiple shoplifters and the driver who fled, as well as almost hitting a police cruiser. This incident occurred on November 27th, 2023, and she was arrested for those charges earlier in the day. Officers deemed that Buckner was lying about the temporary tag being stolen to help her Smyrna case, and a warrant was issued for her arrest on March 14th. Buckner was later taken into custody for false reporting on June 4th.

Marina Albritton leaves “goose egg” on cousin’s head after hitting her with large mirror

34-year-old Marina Albritton was involved in a domestic altercation with her live-in cousin, Sara Smithson, at their West Concord Drive Apartment residence on June 4th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Albritton, who stated she was in a physical altercation with her cousin Smithson. Albritton claimed that Smithson had stolen money from her. Albritton told officers that she went into Smithson’s bedroom, where she was lying down, and started screaming in her face. Smithson asked Albritton to stop, which she did not, prompting Smithson to kick Albritton to stop her from screaming in her face. However, this did not work either, and Albritton proceeded to pick up a large mirror and strike Smithson in the face with it. Officers observed a large hematoma, “a goose egg” on Smithson’s head. Officers also observed Smithson to have a swollen bottom lip and a laceration on the inside of her mouth. Officers deemed Albritton to be the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

18-year-old Camdyn McWhorter steals man’s $1,300 handgun

18-year-old Camdyn McWhorter was caught with a stolen firearm at Harvey Road on June 4th. The owner of the firearm reported that someone from that location stole his handgun, worth $1300. Through further investigation, law enforcement found that McWhorter had possession of the gun. When officers spoke with McWhorter, he stated that he met with a man named Chris and that he gave him the gun. McWhorter can be seen on a Ring camera carrying the firearm into a residence and going inside. Camdyn McWhorter was taken into custody and charged with theft of property.

Javonte Cummings shoots pistol at girlfriend during argument

21-year-old Javonte Leallen Cummings was taken into custody for reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, and firearm possession during the commission of a felony on June 3rd. On May 24th, around 8:09 p.m., officers responded to the Pin Oak Drive Apartments regarding shots fired. Upon arrival, they located Taylor Anderson, Cumming’s girlfriend and mother of his child, and Taylor’s mother, Kimberly Anderson. Taylor advised officers that she and Cummings argued, during which he grabbed his pistol and fired shots toward where she was standing outside of the apartment. Officers later discovered that the bullet traveled through the apartment door and stopped inside the wall. A warrant was issued for Cummings arrest, and he was later detained for the occurrence.

DUI: Kayla Smiley almost hits police car while driving opposite direction on I-24

31-year-old Kayla Smiley was seen almost hitting law enforcement in a blue Toyota sedan while driving in the opposite direction on I-24 on June 3rd. When officers made contact with Smiley, they reported that they observed several signs of intoxication, including the smell of alcohol coming from her person. Smiley agreed to perform sobriety tests, but before doing them, she confessed that she was leaving Nashville after having an alcoholic drink. After Smiley performed poorly on sobriety tests, she was read implied consent. Smiley told police she had gotten on I-24 from Exit 31 and did not stop until she was pulled over. Clarksville Police received several calls due to her traveling in the opposite direction on the interstate. Kayla Smiley was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving.
