Christopher Barrow destroys fiancé’s phone during verbal altercation

34-year-old Christopher Shane Barrow had a domestic incident with his fiancé, Ashleigh Simon, at their Stella Drive residence around midnight on June 4th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Simon, who stated she and Barrow had a verbal altercation. Simon said that Barrow took her phone during the altercation and threw it on the ground. Simon noted that this damaged the screen and back plate. The cost to repair the phone is approximately $400. Barrow was later taken into custody for vandalism.

DUI: Charles Garret caught with handgun during traffic stop over illegal tint

22-year-old Charles Garret was pulled over on June 2nd for an illegal tint on his white Honda sedan on I-24. Officers made contact and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached Garret. While speaking to Garret, officers observed a Glock 17 handgun at his feet. Garret agreed to sobriety tests but showed signs of intoxication, so he was taken into custody and read implied consent. After refusing to provide a blood sample, Garret was transported to booking and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, window tint, and implied consent violation.

DUI: Scott Malone swerves into oncoming traffic after having 4 beers at Drake’s

58-year-old Scott Malone was seen swerving lanes in a dark gray Chevrolet Silverado on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on June 2nd. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Malone was swerving into oncoming traffic. Officers made contact with Malone and asked him where he was coming from. Malone told officers he was coming from Drake’s and had around four beers while he was there. Scott Malone agreed to sobriety tests but performed poorly on them, leading to him being taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and implied consent violation.

Terry Malone hits mother in neck several times, destroys her phone during argument

42-year-old Terry Malone was involved in a domestic altercation with his mother, Karen Malone, at their Preserve at Spring Creek apartment on May 25th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Karen. Karen stated that Terry assaulted her and broke her phone. Karen told officers that when she took Terry’s phone from him for recording her, he hit her in the neck several times, causing her to drop her phone. Once her phone was on the floor, Terry grabbed it and smashed it. Terry Malone was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and vandalism on June 2nd.

Ronald Booth caught neglecting bedridden wife after she’s found in “poor physical health”

76-year-old Ronald Booth was neglecting his wife, Barbara Booth, at their York Road residence on May 30th. When officers arrived, Barbara was unable to speak, was bedridden, and was unable to focus on anything. Officers transported Barbara to Tennova for medical treatment. Once they were at Tennova, it was revealed that Barbara was in “poor physical health.” Barbara was dehydrated and hadn’t received any medication that was essential to her well-being. After medical assistance, Barbara became more lucid and was able to hold a conversation with law enforcement. Barbara stated that Ronald got upset with her and threw food at her. She also claimed that Ronald hit her around three days prior. Barbara was able to present evidence of the assault to medical staff. Ronald was taken into custody and charged with abuse of an elderly adult on June 1st.

Later, on June 10th, deputies received a report of a suspicious white Toyota pickup truck on York Road. When they made contact with the driver, it was Ronald Booth, whose Condition of Release was still active. His Condition of Release stated that he was to stay away from Barbara Booth and any location she might be. Ronald Booth was taken into custody and charged with contempt and Elderly Abuse.

DUI: Derek Hopkins calls 911 to report that he was reacting to a narcotic

35-year-old Derek Michael Hopkins called the police to the North Riverside Drive Waffle House around 8:45 p.m. on June 1st. He advised dispatch that he was reacting to a narcotic. When officers arrived, they Mirandized him, under which he stated that he pulled over to the establishment after taking 100 mg of Tapentadol earlier in the night, which made him feel like everything “seemed far away,” so he pulled over. Hopkins agreed to provide a blood sample and was transported to Sango Emergency Room. Hopkins was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license and driving under the influence.

DUI: Tia Newman drinks beer while driving with 7-month-old child in backseat

30-year-old Tia Alexis Hope Newman was observed violating the hands-free law near 101st Airborne Division Parkway and Trenton Road around 6:10 p.m. on June 1st. After noticing this, officers initiated a traffic stop and approached the driver’s side. Officers noticed Newman reeked of alcohol and had open beer cans on the passenger side floorboard. Newman told officers that she had been drinking since 11 a.m. Newman then consented to sobriety tests, which she performed poorly on. Newman was read implied consent and agreed to provide officers with a blood sample. During the traffic stop, Newman had her 7-month-old child improperly restrained in the backseat. The child’s car seat was only held down by the seatbelt of the backseat. Newman’s child was left with her sister. Officers then discovered that her driver’s license had been revoked since April 16th, 2023. Newman was then taken into custody for driving on a revoked license, driving under the influence, improper child restraint devices, and an open-container violation.

Matthew Wiers strangles minor son during altercation

39-year-old Matthew Allan Wiers had a domestic altercation with his minor son at their Bluebonnet Drive residence late May 31st. Officers met with Rose Shroyer, a family friend, who provided officers with footage of the incident. Officers then spoke with Wiers’s son, who stated that Wiers grabbed him by the neck and slammed him to the ground. The victim added that his father then began strangling him with both hands to the point that he could not breathe. Wiers was taken into custody for domestic assault on June 1st.

Brandie Herrington jailed after officers discover malnourished dog on her property

44-year-old Brandie Herrington was caught neglecting her German Shepherd at Tennova Main Hospital on May 23rd. Officers arrived at Herrington’s Lafayette Point Circle residence and spoke to Herrington regarding a separate incident before she was transported to Tennova Main Hospital. While doing so, an officer noticed a German Shepherd inside a kennel that appeared very malnourished. The officer could clearly observe the dog’s rib cage and spine. Law enforcement made contact with Herrington’s son, Hayes. Hayes informed officers that the dog belonged to his sister, who was in Nashville. Hayes stated her dog had been staying with him and his mother for the last couple of months. Hayes also informed officers that Herrington was the animal’s primary caretaker. Law enforcement felt the need to contact animal control because of how severe the state of the dog seemed. Animal control stated that they came to Herrington’s residence on April 6th, 2023, regarding the health and well-being of the dog. Animal control told officers that when they weighed the dog on their previous visit, it weighed 69 pounds. When they took the dog to the vet on May 23rd and weighed it again, the dog weighed 41.2 pounds. The dog lost 27.8 pounds between April 6th, 2023, and May 23rd, 2024. Brandie Herrington was taken into custody and charged with animal cruelty on May 31st.

Dante Blount caught with drug paraphernalia in his apartment

28-year-old Dante Blount was jailed after police responded to a domestic in progress at the Waterford Landing apartments on May 31st. Officers made contact with Blount in the parking lot of the apartments and observed the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him. Blount was very upset and told officers that before they got there, he had a couple of shots. Blount was taken into custody for his safety. Officers went to Blount’s apartment to speak with his roommate. When officers opened the door, they observed marijuana, a scale, rolling papers, and a bong in plain view. Dante Blount claimed that all of it was his, so he was transported to booking and charged with simple possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Anthony Hite fractures long-time female friend’s skull by punching her in face

43-year-old Anthony Hite was involved in an altercation with his longtime friend, Stacy Warren, on May 30th. Officers arrived at the Tennova Medical Center and spoke with Warren, who stated that during an argument, Hite punched her in the face. While at Tennova Medical Center, it was found that Warren had two fractures to her skull. Anthony Hite was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.

Jerry Coppage caught with over 14 grams of marijuana

18-year-old Jerry Coppage was caught with marijuana while driving on June 1st. Officers observed a vehicle driving with a missing taillight and conducted a traffic stop. Officers then made contact with Coppage, and while speaking with him, officers immediately noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the car. When asked about the drugs, Coppage admitted to having marijuana as well as a grinder for it. Officers then proceeded to search the vehicle upon his admittance, and during the search, they located a backpack containing marijuana, THC vapes, a digital scale, a marijuana grinder, a glass pipe, ripped baggies, and a mason jar containing marijuana. A portion of the drugs were tested and came back positive as marijuana, weighing in at 14.175 grams, and the vapes contained 44% THC. Coppage was then taken into custody for unlawful drug paraphernalia, drug violations, and simple possession.

Timmy Smith indicted by Grand Jury for 2 counts of sexual battery of 13-year-old

A Montgomery County Grand Jury has indicted 44-year-old Timmy Smith for two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure during or between January 6th, 2018, and January 5th, 2019. The indictment alleges that Smith had sexual contact with a thirteen-year-old. Timmy Smith was taken into custody on May 31st. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $50,000.

Jaylon Rogers assaults girlfriend during argument, prevents her from calling police

18-year-old Jaylon Rogers was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Lacy Humphrey, at their Copeland Road townhome on May 31st. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Rogers and Humphrey. Humphrey stated that as she and Rogers argued, Rogers grabbed her by her head and started shaking her. Humphrey went on to tell law enforcement that Rogers took her phone while she was trying to call 911, preventing her from doing so. When officers spoke with Rogers, he stated that nothing physical happened and that they only argued. Jaylon Rogers was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and interfering with emergency calls.

Celeste Bradford caught with marijuana after swerving on I-24 with revoked license

30-year-old Celeste Eugenea Bradford, a US Post Office employee, swerved in her blue Nissan sedan while traveling westbound on I-24 on June 2nd.  After noticing this, officers conducted a traffic stop on the Nissan. Officers noticed Bradford reeked of marijuana, which led to them searching her vehicle and locating marijuana, along with a grinder and rolling papers. When officers ran her information through NCIC, they discovered she had a revoked license and numerous FTAs, so they detained her. Bradford was taken into custody for simple possession, driving on a revoked license, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Jevon Poe strangles girlfriend after she questions him about “suspicious” texts

23-year-old Jevon Avontae Poe was taken into custody for vandalism, aggravated assault, escape, and evading arrest on May 31st. On April 1st, Shauna Dobbs, Poe’s girlfriend at the time, called the police to her Parc at Clarksville apartment. Dobbs advised officers that Poe had attacked her. She stated that she found “suspicious” text messages and woke him up to question him. This caused Poe to become defensive. Poe then grabbed her and threw her to the ground, where he began strangling her. Dobbs sustained an abrasion on her left knee and a bruise on the left side of her neck. Poe alleged that Dobbs stabbed him and did not mention an assault before or after he was stabbed. Poe was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

On May 30th, around 10:59 a.m., Dobbs called the police to her apartment again and informed officers that she had invited Poe, her now ex-boyfriend, over earlier to pick up his belongings. Dobbs stated that Poe had grabbed her phone and tried to leave. She stated that when she tried stopping him, he threw her $350 phone on the ground and broke it. Another warrant was issued for Poe’s arrest that day.

On May 31st, around 10:58 a.m., officers had Poe detained at his Treeland Court residence, where he, while in handcuffs, started running away. Poe disregarded officers’ commands to stop and attempted to return to his home, where officers eventually placed him back into detainment.

Donna Crookshanks caught with drug paraphernalia after K9 search

42-year-old Donna Lea Crookshanks rode as a passenger in a white Geo Metro with expired tags on May 30th. Officers observed this and initiated a traffic stop. After discovering Crookshanks and the driver’s drug history, officers asked to search the vehicle, but they refused. Officers had K9 officers deploy Service Dog Drako to conduct an odor examination. Officers advised that Drako indicated there were narcotics present. During the vehicle search, they discovered a cut straw with powdery residue on the steering column and a needle in Crookshanks’ purse. Crookshanks informed officers that she is currently homeless. Crookshanks was taken into custody for unlawful drug paraphernalia on May 31st.

Zikia Henderson assaults boyfriend, throws his belongings at him during argument

31-year-old Zikia Laprell Henderson had a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, John Andretrius Dowlen, at her Ringgold Court townhouse in the early hours of June 1st. Officers responded to Dowlen’s Sampson Street residence and spoke with Dowlen, who stated that Henderson and her friend picked him up and brought him to her place. Then, Dowlen stated while he was lying in bed, Henderson became irate, claiming he was the reason she was angry. Dowlen stated Henderson grabbed a gun and placed it on the bed. Due to him being recently shot in the foot, he got scared, grabbed the gun, and placed it in his pocket so she could not use it. Then, after Dowlen walked out of the room, Henderson followed him and started hitting him while throwing his belongings at him. Dowlen left and returned to his home, where she would later show up. Henderson was taken into custody for domestic assault.

John Dowlen breaks girlfriend’s $400 TV because he thought she was cheating on him

25-year-old John Andretrius Dowlen had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Zikia Henderson, at her Ringgold Court townhouse in the early hours of June 1st. Officers arrived at Dowlen’s Sampson Street residence. They spoke with Henderson, who explained that Dowlen had come to her home and believed she was talking to other guys. This caused him to become angry and break her $400 television. Henderson showed officers a picture of the damaged TV. Then, officers spoke with Dowlen, who admitted to breaking the TV. Dowlen added that during the altercation, Henderson grabbed a firearm, causing him to become scared due to recently being shot. Dowlen said he grabbed the firearm from Henderson and placed it in his pocket. Dowlen grabbing the firearm violated his conditions of release, which stated he could not possess a firearm. Dowlen was taken into custody for vandalism and contempt.
