When officers arrived, they spoke with Karen, who stated she and Karina had argued over a Wi-Fi router, which escalated into a scuffle. Karen admitted to hitting Karina first and was deemed the primary aggressor. Karen Andreina Nieto Rincon was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Brian Bennett slashes ex-girlfriend’s tires while creeping outside her home at night

On April 19th, 45-year-old Brian Bennett was observed driving slowly around his ex-girlfriend Shalina’s neighborhood in a red sedan with his headlights off. Law enforcement received camera footage of Bennett driving past Shalina’s home for about 7 minutes. Shalina contacted law enforcement, stating that Bennett texted her, threatening her and causing emotional distress. Shalina also informed officers that Bennett was around her house at the time that her tires were slashed. Brian Bennett was taken into custody and charged with stalking and vandalism on May 21st.

Kailee Palmer doesn’t scan all of her items at self-checkout

26-year-old Kailee Palmer was caught shoplifting at the Walmart on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on February 28th. Palmer selected items, went to the self-checkout, and scanned only some of the items. Palmer then proceeded to place the items in some bags and walk out without paying for them. The total cost of stolen items was $67.19. A warrant was issued, and Palmer was taken into custody for three counts of shoplifting on May 21st.

38-year-old Megan Husband was involved in a domestic altercation with her husband, Michael Husband, at their Trenton Road residence on May 22nd. When officers arrived, they spoke with Michael, who stated that during an argument over disciplining their kids, Megan punched him in the face and hit him in the head with a shot glass. 19-year-old Charles Al Abiudi turned his lights off as he sped down Dover Road on May 22nd. Officers observed a white pickup truck going 80 mph in a 45 mph zone as he passed them. They later located him at the Raceway on New Providence Boulevard and approached to speak with him, during which they noticed he reeked of alcohol and exhibited signs of impairment, so they prompted him with sobriety tests. He performed poorly, and after being informed of implied consent, he agreed to provide two breath samples, which resulted in 0.126% BAC. Al Abiudi was taken into custody for speeding, headlight requirement violation, and driving while impaired.

36-year-old James Aro Yeargin had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Jessica Wilk, at their Silty Drive residence around 8 p.m. on May 21st. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Wilk, who stated that she and Yeargin argued in their bedroom over travel arrangements to Florida, which escalated when he pushed her into their TV, causing the screen to crack. 19-year-old Johnothan Michael Selig was taken into custody for driving while impaired on May 22nd. On May 21st, around 11 p.m., officers observed Selig in the South Riverside Drive Dollar Tree parking lot with his car running, so they approached him and noticed he smelled strongly of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and after being read implied consent, agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in .056 BAC%.

Dalton Jones slaps wife in the back of her head during argument while driving

54-year-old Dalton Andrew Jones had a domestic altercation with his wife, Sylvia Jones, in their vehicle near Peachers Mill Road and Purple Heart Parkway late May 21st. Officers arrived at the Peachers Mill Road Casey’s and spoke with Mr. Jones. Dalton stated he had pulled over at the intersection near the gas station during their argument. Once they pulled over, Sylvia bit him on the right forearm and pulled the keys out of the ignition. Dalton said he retrieved the keys from her and drove to Casey’s. Dalton told officers that when he pulled over, he slapped her on the back of the head. When asked about the biting, Sylvia denied ever biting him. Dalton told officers he did not slap her. Both Dalton and Sylvia were taken into custody for domestic assault on May 22nd.

DUI: Allessia Smith-Fairman caught drinking vodka after traffic stop for dark window tint

23-year-old Allessia Smith-Fairman was seen driving a black Buick sedan with dark window tint at the intersection of Hemlock Drive and Everett Drive on May 18th. When officers approached Fairman, they observed an open alcoholic beverage in the cup holder and a glass bottle of vodka in the passenger seat. Officers also reported that they could smell the odor of alcohol and marijuana coming from the vehicle. Fairman agreed to perform sobriety tests but executed them poorly. A check of Fairman’s driver’s license revealed that it was suspended on January 20th, 2023, for failing to pay fines. Fairman also had an active condition of release, which prohibited her from drinking and possessing alcohol. Alessia Fairman was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, and contempt on May 19th.

Jason Heavin tackles girlfriend to ground at Billy Dunlop Park

45-year-old Jason Heavin was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Kristina Ganassin, at Billy Dunlop Park near East Boy Scout Road on May 19th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Ganassin. Ganassin stated that during an altercation with Heavin, he tackled her to the ground, causing injuries that officers observed. Officers then made contact with Heavin, who tried to walk away from officers. Officers attempted to grab Heavin as he pulled away. Heavin also pulled away from officers, inhibiting their ability to place him in handcuffs. Heavin was taken into custody for domestic assault and resisting arrest.

31-year-old Ashleigh Sodeman was involved in a domestic altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Von Flue, at a Thistlewood Drive Apartment residence on May 20th. When officers arrived on the scene and spoke with Daniel. Daniel told officers that Sodeman had slapped him on the neck after they had a verbal disagreement. Both parties then gave written statements on what happened. Sodeman admitted to officers that she did intentionally slap him in the back of the neck. Sodeman was deemed the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for domestic assault.

30-year-old Thomas Grizzard was involved in a domestic incident with his mother, Nancy Martin, at an Old Trenton Road residence on May 19th. Officers spoke to Martin, who claimed that on May 19th, Grizzard had destroyed property inside the home. Martin informed officers that Grizzard broke sentimental items that belonged to her deceased mother, causing damage estimated to be $100. Officers also observed a text from that day that Grizzard sent threatening to kill Martin or anyone else who entered the residence. Grizzard was taken into custody for domestic assault and vandalism on May 20th.

Travis Andry steals man’s $1,280 rent check, deposits it into his bank account

35-year-old Travis Andry was caught after stealing and altering checks at Hunter Chase Apartments on February 20th. On that day, Keith Fox reported to officers that his rent check for $1,280.00 had been stolen from the deposit box of his apartment complex and altered. Andry was identified as the suspect and account holder of the mobile Citibank checking account into which the check was deposited. On February 1st, the apartment complex had a break-in occur at their office, and the check was taken from their after-hours check drop box. The check was initially made out to Hunter Chase Apartments but was altered, made out to Andry, and then deposited the following day. A warrant was issued for Andry’s arrest that day. Andry was taken into custody for forgery on May 20th.

Madisann Best caught with Molly & Magic Mushrooms after letting police search her truck

18-year-old Madisann Ruth Best was in one of two vehicles at an abandoned Port Royal Road business around 11 p.m. on May 19th. Officers observed this and approached both vehicles. During the interaction, officers obtained probable cause to search one of the vehicles. Officers then spoke with Best, who owned the other vehicle, a blue Chevy Silverado. As Best spoke with officers, she consented to them searching her vehicle. During their search, officers discovered a series of “roaches” in the ashtray and a brown backpack containing 4.5 grams of Magic Mushrooms. Officers also found a folded $1 bill with a white powdery substance in the center console, which tested positive for MDMA. Best then told officers the substance was “Molly.” In addition to this, officers found 16 packs of White Grape Cigarillos. Best was taken into custody for unlawful drug paraphernalia, being a minor in possession of tobacco products, and simple possession of Schedule I drugs on May 20th.

Demarkus Kee jailed after shooting gun into neighbor’s apartment

20-year-old Demarkus Kee shot a firearm in his apartment near Lafayette Road on May 14th. Officers spoke with the victim, who claimed that she heard what she believed to be gunshots. She told officers that she found what appeared to be a bullet hole in her upstairs guest bedroom. The officers arrived on the scene and located a portion of a bullet inside the room. Officers then made contact with two occupants of the next-door apartment, Marquisha Hanserd and Demarkus Kee. Officers spoke with Kee via phone call, who admitted to officers that he had shot the firearm while handling it. Kee told officers that he left the apartment and took the firearm to his girlfriend’s apartment, who lives in the same apartment complex. Officers were able to recover the firearm from his girlfriend’s apartment, and Kee was taken into custody for reckless endangerment.

35-year-old Shantora Covington was involved in a domestic incident with her boyfriend, Mr. Pointer, at a Lafayette Pointe Circle residence on May 14th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Covington, who stated she was invited to the residence. Covington stated she got into a verbal argument that turned physical when she pushed Pointer’s face. Officers then spoke with Pointer, who stated that he had let Covington inside the residence, then they got into a verbal argument. During the argument, Pointer stated that Covington struck him with a closed fist. Due to both parties stating the first unwanted contact was made by Covington, she was deemed the primary aggressor and taken into custody for domestic assault.

Jarrod Williams pushes wife to the ground & strangles her during argument

39-year-old Jarrod Williams was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Kristin Williams, at his Samantha Lane residence on May 13th. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with Kristin, who stated that she and Jarrod had gotten into a verbal argument that had turned physical. Kristin stated she was pushed to the ground by Jarrod, and then he proceeded to place his hands around her neck, choking her. Kristin told officers that she felt like she could not breathe and that she feared for her life. Kristin began to kick and punch Jarrod to get him off of her. As this occurred, Jon Schrader, a witness, was able to come into the residence to separate Jarrod and Kristin. Jarrod was then taken into custody for aggravated assault on May 14th.

Charles Stephen strangles ex-girlfriend during altercation after breakup

24-year-old Charles Stephens, an employee of CDE Lightband, was involved in a domestic altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Keylia Collins, at his Farm Circle residence on May 13th. Officers were contacted by Collins, who stated that on the previous day, she was involved in a verbal altercation with Stephens that turned physical. Collins claims she was returning personal property to Stephens because their relationship ended. Collins says she was trying to get her house key back from Stephen. She stated that as she reached for the key, Stephens grabbed her by the neck and pushed her onto a bed. Stephens proceeded to stand over her while she was on the bed, not moving his hands off her neck. Collins says she got Stephens off of her and left the house. Collins stated Stephens followed her outside and threw a jug of water at her car as she pulled out of the driveway. Stephens was deemed the primary aggressor by officers, and he was taken into custody for aggravated assault on May 13th.

Davon Kelley caught with crack pipe after resisting arrest in Electric Cowboy parking lot

25-year-old Davon Kelley was seen publicly intoxicated and resisting arrest at the troubled Electric Cowboy near North Riverside Drive on May 12th. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed emergency responders talking with Kelley, who they thought was intoxicated. Emergency responders attempted to put Kelley onto a gurney, but he started to push their hands away and threatened to assault them. When Kelley’s behavior got worse, officers chose to detain him, and upon officers grabbing his arms, he jerked away and attempted to run. Officers then grabbed Kelley, forcing him to the ground, where he continued kicking at officers. When officers searched Kelley, they found a burnt glass pipe typically used for the ingestion of illegal drugs. A metal piece identified as a push rod was also found, which is commonly used in conjunction with a crack pipe. Since Kelly’s behavior was indicative of someone under the influence of drugs, he was taken into custody for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, unlawful drug paraphernalia, vandalism, and public intoxication.
