51-year-old Carlis Byard Jr. was seen assaulting Matyis Anthony with a rotary cultivating tool at a Mini-Mart on Zinc Plant Road on July 6th. Byard Jr. and Anthony were arguing inside the Mini-Mart when they agreed to go outside. Both proceeded to go back inside the Mini Mart, where the argument ceased. After this, Byard Jr. left the Mini Mart again and retrieved a rotary Cultivator tool with spikes at the end. Byard Jr. positioned himself right outside the door, taking a stance. Once Anthony exited the building, Byard Jr. struck Anthony with the gardening tool, impaling him on his left arm. The two then began fighting, and Anthony struck Byard Jr. back in self-defense. Officers observed the injuries to Anthony that were consistent with him being stabbed before receiving footage from the Mini Mart. Byard was then deemed the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

19-year-old Anthony Rutherford was involved in a domestic altercation with his sister, Harley Key, at a Sandpiper Drive residence on July 2nd. Officers responded to an overdose call at the residence. When officers arrived and Rutherford’s family woke him up, he was aggressive and swung at them. Once Rutherford had stood up, he approached his sister and kicked her in the chest. Officers deemed Rutherford to be the primary aggressor, and he was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

DUI: Mary Ann Rogers refers to officers as her boyfriend after causing car accident

67-year-old Mary Ann Rogers was arrested for driving under the influence after causing a car accident at the intersection of Edmonson Ferry Road and Ashland City Road on June 20th. When officers arrived at the scene, they found that her pickup truck had rear-ended a sedan at a stoplight. Upon speaking to Rogers, the driver of the truck, officers noticed her bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol on her breath. They also observed her slurred speech and inability to answer simple questions. Rogers then admitted to drinking alcohol before driving. When asked to step out of her vehicle, she could not stand on her own and had to be supported by officers. Sobriety tests were not conducted; however, during a search of Rogers’s vehicle, a metal container with alcohol and prescription medication labeled as Hydrocodone was found in her purse. Despite agreeing to give a blood sample, she later refused to leave the car when they arrived at Sango ER. Throughout the arrest process, Rogers referred to officers as her boyfriend, Marcus, and did not recall the accident or giving a blood sample. Consequently, Rogers was charged with driving under the influence, driving with an open container of alcohol, and exercising due care.

A few weeks later, Rogers was again caught driving under the influence at the intersection of Highway 48 and Hawkins Road on July 2nd. Officers observed Rogers driving in the middle of a two-way turn lane three different times. Following this, officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with Rogers, who admitted that she had consumed some Hennessy and Coke but was coming from the “F Club.” When asked, Rogers refused sobriety tests; however, she consented to have her blood drawn. Rogers was then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

28-year-old Johnny Nieto Jr. was found locked inside a bathroom stall at Hooters at 12:35 a.m. on July 6th. An employee at the location informed officers that Nieto had been drinking before police arrival and was in the bathroom stall for a long time. Once officers made contact with Nieto, they noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him. During their interaction with Nieto, they observed that he was incoherent and couldn’t maintain his balance. Nieto Jr. was taken into custody for public intoxication.

40-year-old Derrick Williams, an employee of 7 Deuce Social Club, was seen vandalizing his ex-girlfriend, Ms. Cusano’s property at a Verkler Drive Apartment on July 6th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Cusano, who claimed that Williams, her ex-boyfriend, took multiple items from her property. Officers later found the items in a dumpster near the residence. Officers noticed the items were contaminated with used cat litter and other garbage. Based on the statements made and officers finding the property in a nearby dumpster, a warrant was issued. Williams was then found and taken into custody for vandalism on July 7th.

19-year-old Cheyenne Jenkins was found intoxicated at the Parkway Place Apartments on July 7th. When officers arrived, they made contact with Jenkins, who had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her. Through further investigation, officers received Barton’s vehicle tags and called on her for an interview. During the interview, Barton confessed that she was the driver who evaded the traffic stop and recalled the incident for officers. Barton was taken into custody for evading arrest and speeding on July 5th.

27-year-old Austin Bateman was involved in a domestic altercation with his sister, Ashley Bateman, while at the Solis Apartments on Needmore Road on July 5th. Officers responded to an assault occurring at the residence. When officers arrived, they could hear a female screaming, “No!” After this, officers proceeded to run upstairs and observed Austin dragging Ashley, his sister, into an apartment by her arm. Officers then instructed Austin to release Ashley, which he did. Austin proceeded to drop Ashley and began charging at the officers while screaming and cursing. Officers then grabbed Bateman by his shirt and placed him on the ground. After this, Bateman got up on his knees and swung at an officer, striking him on the left side of his chin. Bateman was then deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for assault on a first responder and domestic assault.

29-year-old Leon Ravenell was seen asleep at the wheel at a traffic light on Peachers Mill Road on July 4th. Bystanders reported that Ravenell was asleep and parked his car before law enforcement arrived. When officers arrived and contacted Ravenell, they needed to use a sternal rub to wake him. Once awake, Ravenell admitted to drinking alcohol before operating his car. Ravenell agreed to perform sobriety tests but showed several signs of impairment. Ravenell was then taken into custody. An Intoximeter revealed that Ravenwell’s BAC was .115%. Ravenell was later transported to Booking and charged with driving under the influence.

Sartley Yangitelush drunkenly shoots fireworks at buildings on July 4th

26-year-old Sartley Yangitelush was seen intoxicated and shooting fireworks near buildings while at the Stone Terrace apartments on Tracy Lane on July 4th. Officers responded to a report of a man shooting fireworks near buildings. When officers arrived, they spoke with Yangitelush. Officers noticed that Yangitelush had a bag of fireworks in his possession. Officers also saw several empty beer bottles and fireworks debris around him. Yangitelush reeked of alcohol and was observed to be firing fireworks from his hands. When officers spoke with Yangitelush, he claimed he had no identification, so he wrote his name and date of birth down for officers. Yangitelush then told officers he was 25 and stated his birth year was 1997, despite him originally writing down that it was 1996. He then stated that his birth year was 1996 before correcting himself and saying it was 1997 again. Officers then determined Yangitelush to be lying about his age and deemed him too intoxicated. Yangitelush was taken into custody for criminal impersonation and public intoxication.

31-year-old Lucian Groves was involved in a car crash on Hankook Road on the 4th of July. When officers arrived, they observed Groves’ silver Ram 1500 crashed into a light pole. Officers then made contact with Groves, who was unresponsive at the wheel. Once Groves was awake, he showed signs of impairment. Officers prompted Groves with field sobriety tests. Groves consented to the tests but performed poorly. During an arrest search of Groves’ vehicle, officers found marijuana. Groves was later transported and charged with driving under the influence and simple possession.

Al-Basim Wrazz-Napper lies about his identity during altercation, jailed on multiple warrants

35-year-old Al-Basim Wrazz Napper was seen impersonating someone else at a Fox Creek apartment on Lafayette Road on July 29th, 2023. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Napper, who was involved in a domestic altercation. Napper identified himself as Christopher Barnes to officers and refused to give officers his date of birth. After officers checked his vehicle’s tag, it was discovered that his real name was Al-Basim Wrazz Napper. Napper then left the apartment through the back door before they could speak with him about the false name that he gave. Naper was discovered to have two active warrants out of Kentucky, and another one was issued after he fled the scene. Napper was later found and taken into custody for Criminal impersonation on July 4th, 2024.

49-year-old Brenda Hatch was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Jason McDaniel, at Brewster Drive at 4:31 a.m. on July 6th. When officers arrived, Hatch told them that McDaniel strangled her during an argument. When officers met with McDaniel, he stated that while he was sleeping, Hatch started hitting him. McDaniel added that he grabbed her by the arms and started hitting her in the face but denied ever strangling her. Officers never observed any marks on either of them. However, Hatch was later taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Tristin Wilkins grabs girlfriend by hair after confronting her for cheating

25-year-old Tristan Smith-Wilkins was caught after he was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Ashley Wilkins, while at their Old Highway residence on July 4th. Officers spoke with Ashley, who claimed that Tristan intentionally grabbed her hair. On June 21st, Ashley and Tristan had gotten into an argument over Tristan finding messages on her phone, which upset Tristan and made him accuse her of being unfaithful, causing Tristan to grab Ashley’s hair. Ashley informed officers that to escape the situation, she hid in her bedroom so he could not harm her. Officers later spoke with Grace Campbell, a witness who lives at the residence. She stated that on that day, while she was listening through a closed door, she heard Tristan apologizing to Ashley for abusing her. After this, Campbell claims to have witnessed Tristan become angry during another argument with Ashley in which he grabbed her forearm and pulled her to the bedroom while Ashley was saying, “No, Stop.” Campbell also told officers that the incident had occurred about a month ago. Based on the statements, officers deemed Tristan the primary aggressor, and a warrant was issued. Tristan was later found and taken into custody for Domestic assault and False imprisonment on July 4th.

Contay Blakey jailed after grabbing wife during argument

46-year-old Contay Lee Blakey had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Destiny Brown, at their Edmonson Ferry Road residence at 9:07 p.m. on July 1st. When officers arrived, they spoke with Blakey, who stated he had just woken up and gotten into an argument with Brown. Brown told officers that Blakey had been drinking, and after he got up from a nap, they had a verbal dispute in their bedroom. During the dispute, Blakey grabbed her right shoulder and tried to hold her inside the house. While the altercation took place, Blakey tore Brown’s bra strap and caused her to fear for her safety. Blakey was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

Armand Ali makes multiple false reports after hitting two mailboxes & fleeing the scene

49-year-old Armand Ali was caught after making several false reports to officers on July 1st. On February 16th, officers visited an Eagles Nest Lane residence and spoke with Ali. He claimed that when he woke up, his car’s left side was destroyed. Officers were able to find probable cause for Ali striking two mailboxes earlier in the morning and fleeing the scene. This led to Ali being arrested that day. On May 17th, Ali requested to make changes to a report. Officers observed Ali appearing to coerce a witness to alter statements regarding his arrest on February 16th. Ali then informed officers that he needed to make a formal complaint that the arresting officers, on February 16th, broke his arm. After reviewing the camera footage, officers found this claim to be false. The footage showed that Ali had dropped something upon the officers’ arrival and made a scowl. When officers asked about Ali’s arm, he told them that his arm was hurt and swollen but made no more complaints about his arm.
On June 8th, Ali contacted officers concerning filing charges against someone who had broken his arm. Ali claimed that his girlfriend had pushed him down the stairs, resulting in his arm breaking. Ali also claimed that he initially contacted officers regarding a domestic assault, but they did not take him seriously. Ali then says officers did not investigate the domestic assault but instead investigated his vehicle damage. Ali stated this resulted in him being arrested. Officers reviewed body cam footage, and at no point did it show Ali making claims of a domestic assault. Ali was then taken into custody for making false reports on July 1st.

34-year-old Rafael Garduza-Salinas was seen publicly intoxicated and stumbling near an intersection on Crossland Avenue and Kelly Lane on July 2nd. While officers were driving on Crossland Avenue, they noticed Salinas walking and stumbling on the side of the road. They then turned around and spoke with Salinas. However, Salinas refused to give officers his name. While speaking with Salinas, officers could also smell the strong odor of alcohol coming from him. Officers then continued asking Salinas for his name. Despite this, Salinas refused to give officers his information again. Due to his level of intoxication, officers deemed he was a danger to himself, and he was taken into custody for public intoxication.

64-year-old Linda Marie Alvarez caused a disturbance at AJ’s Bar on Dover late July 2nd. The bartender, Jennifer Lockhart, alerted the authorities. Lockhart told police she asked Alvarez to leave, but Alvarez refused. Alvarez then continued causing problems inside the establishment. Alvarez was then taken into custody for criminal trespass.
