19-year-old Wyatt Vaneman was seen publicly intoxicated and fighting a man on Walnut Street on July 2nd. While officers were on Walnut Street, they noticed Vaneman, who seemed to be involved in a physical altercation with another man in the middle of the road. Officers noticed Vaneman was unsteady on his feet and also reeked of alcohol. Vaneman admitted to officers that he had drunk six beers. Vaneman was then taken into custody for public intoxication and unlawful distribution.

Daniel Stevenson caught with meth pipe after being booked on active warrant

44-year-old Daniel Tannier Stevenson was observed in traffic on Providence Boulevard with an active warrant for traffic offenses around 10:10 p.m. on July 2nd. Officers noticed this and detained him for the occurrence. During a subsequent search, they found a burnt glass pipe with residue commonly associated with methamphetamine ingestion. Stevenson was taken into custody for unlawful drug paraphernalia, no license, no insurance, and no registration.

Christopher Wix destroys girlfriend’s phone after she confronts him for talking to minor

30-year-old Christopher David Wix had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Harley Eden, at their Samuel Drive residence on July 2nd. Eden told responding officers that she confronted Wix about him allegedly talking to a minor, which sparked an argument. Then, she informed him that she had proof of the interactions on her phone. Eden advised that she had left the room and that when she returned, her phone had been damaged. Her phone was valued at $120. Wix was then taken into custody for vandalism.

Jaylin Ayer speeds down Fort Campbell Boulevard at 69 mph on revoked license

27-year-old Jaylin Ayer was caught speeding and driving on a suspended license near Ringgold Fine Wine & Spirits on Fort Campbell Boulevard on July 2nd. While stationary at the Park-it Market on Fort Campbell Boulevard, officers observed a motorcycle traveling above the speed limit. Officers observed the motorcycle driving at 69 mph and conducted a traffic stop. The motorcycle was parked in the Ringgold Fine Wine & Spirits parking lot, and officers contacted Ayer. Upon speaking with Ayer, they noticed that he had a revoked driver’s license, which has been revoked since January 25th, 2023. Officers also noticed that Ayer had more than two failure to appear in court charges within the last two years. Officers deemed that he would likely not appear in court again. Ayer was then taken into custody for driving on a suspended license and speeding.

Davon Kelley barely able to stand after taking fentanyl near West Knollwood Circle apartments

25-year-old Davon Alexander Kelley showed signs of impairment near the West Knollwood Circle apartments on July 2nd. When officers arrived, they noticed he could barely stand. Officers noted that Kelley appeared as if he were about to fall asleep or pass out while talking with them. At one point, during their interaction, he started drooling. Officers attempted to find him a place to stay but could not, so they detained him for his safety. Then, officers searched him and located a powdery substance, later identified as fentanyl. Kelley was taken into custody for simple possession and public intoxication.

Corina Garcia pushes mother during argument

28-year-old Corina Garcia was involved in a domestic altercation with her mother, Jessica Reeves, at their Power Street residence on June 22nd. When officers arrived, they spoke with Reeves, who stated that while she and Garcia were arguing, Garcia pushed her to the ground. Reeves had abrasions on her arm caused by the fall that officers observed was consistent with her statement of being pushed. Garcia was not at the residence when officers arrived, and officers were unable to contact her, so a warrant was issued. Garcia was later found and taken into custody for domestic assault on July 2nd.

Stephen Thomas sells stolen Xbox & TV at Cash America Pawn in 2017

34-year-old Stephen Thomas was caught pawing a stolen Xbox and TV at Cash America Pawn on Providence Boulevard on May 19th, 2017. The victim reported that someone stole an Xbox and a TV from her Buckeye Lane residence. Officers located both of the stolen items at the Cash America Pawn shop. Surveillance footage showed Thomas pawning both of the items. After identifying Thomas, the victim informed officers that Thomas had permission to be at her residence but not to take the Xbox and TV. The value of both of the items was $2,000. Thomas was finally taken into custody and charged with theft on July 2nd, 2024.

Kavarius Moody stabs, slams, & strangles girlfriend during altercation

21-year-old Kavarius Moody was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Na’Shari Blackwell, at their Kingbird Drive residence on July 3rd. Officers were dispatched to a domestic incident involving a knife with an open line. During the phone call, officers could hear a female screaming in the background. When officers arrived, they came in contact and observed that Moody and Blackwell were both bleeding and covered in blood. Officers ordered Moody to put his hands behind his back and walk towards them, but they noticed that he had placed something in the kitchen trash can. In the trash can, officers discovered a used kitchen knife. Officers spoke with Blackwell, who stated that while arguing with Moody in the garage, he began strangling her with both of his hands. Blackwell told officers that she pushed Moody away, but he then slammed her onto the ground and began strangling her again while placing a knife to her throat. After that, she grabbed the knife by the blade to attempt to get it away from her throat. Officers observed lacerations and cuts on her right hand that were consistent with her grabbing the knife. Blackwell informed officers that this was when the altercation went from the garage to the washroom. Moody pinned her against a wall and began strangling her once more. Officers then spoke with Taylor Walker, a witness, who stated that she heard Blackwell screaming for help. Walker stated she came downstairs, where she witnessed Moody throw Blackwell to the ground, strangle her, and hold a knife to her chest. Officers then spoke with Moody, who claimed that Blackwell was the one with the knife and that no assault had occurred. Moody was deemed the primary aggressor, so he was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

27-year-old Soldier Michael Morris was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Mrs. Morris, at 11:31 p.m. on July 1st. When officers spoke with Mrs. Morris, she reported that during an argument with Michael, he pushed her to the ground. She stated that after the initial altercation, Michael pushed her again, causing her to fall on the stairs. When officers spoke to Michael, he denied ever pushing his wife. However, he was still taken into custody and charged with domestic assault on July 2nd.

Daryl Blas assaults officer after telling them he planned to end his life

37-year-old Daryl Blas was reported as a suicidal individual at Senseney Dr at 1:17 a.m. on July 3rd. When officers arrived and spoke to Blas, he expressed that he was feeling suicidal and had a plan to end his life. The officers’ next course of action was to take Blas to the hospital for a mental evaluation. However, after a long conversation with Blas, he repeatedly stated that he was unwilling to go to the hospital. Officers attempted to put handcuffs on Blas, but he tensed up and pulled his arms away. After multiple attempts, officers took Blas to the ground and then handcuffed him. While Blas was being transported to a patrol car, he kneed an officer in the thigh and tried to do it again. Blas was then taken to booking, where he was charged with assault against a first responder and resisting arrest.

Skyler Hibbs caught with fentanyl & stolen handgun, tells police she uses an “8-Ball” a day

Officers stopped 22-year-old Skyler Hibbs in a black Ford F-150 on July 3rd. Officers approached the vehicle and observed Hibbs in the passenger seat making furtive movements. Officers asked the driver if they could search the car, but the driver denied them. Police Service Dogs were deployed, and they displayed a positive indication of narcotics in the vehicles. When officers explained that the car had to be searched, Hibbs told them she had “rigs” in her purse. A search of Hibbs’ purse revealed three syringes, a plastic pipe, burnt foil, a small glass jar that contained fentanyl and heroin, and a Ruger Max 9 handgun. Once Hibbs was informed about her Miranda Rights, she confessed that she was a daily user of heroin and fentanyl and that she used a point to an “8 ball” a day for numerous months. A check of Hibbs’ handgun revealed that it was stolen out of North Carolina. A search of Hibbs’ person yielded a 9mm bullet, another pipe, a folded piece of paper containing heroin and fentanyl in her sock, and a small baggie of heroin and fentanyl in her pants. Skyler Hibbs was taken into custody and charged with theft, simple possession, unlawful possession of a weapon, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Teneka Jones arrested after punching sleeping woman in the face

25-year-old Teneka Jones was seen assaulting Katelyn Richardson at her Market Street apartment on June 16th. Officers spoke with Richardson, who reported that Jones had entered the bedroom she was sleeping in as she slept. Richardson informed officers that while she was sleeping, Jones had gotten on top of her and punched her in the face several times. Once officers arrived, Jones was no longer there, so a warrant was issued for her arrest. Jones was later taken into custody for assault on July 3rd.

DUI: Travis Stansberry swerves between lanes after ingesting Fentanyl

39-year-old Travis Stansberry was seen swerving lanes in a black Chevy Silverado near Guthrie Highway and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on July 3rd. While looking for the vehicle, officers spotted it at a gas pump at Twice Daily on Alfred Thun Road. When officers made contact with Stansberry, he couldn’t stand or sit still and appeared to be twitching. Stansberry was asked to perform sobriety tests, consented, and performed poorly on them. Stansberry was then taken into custody. A search of Stansberry’s car revealed an empty Bahama Mama and Mike’s hard lemonade can inside the truck. Officers also found a folded piece of paper that contained fentanyl, two small bags with five pills of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride, and a black bag with two glass pipes with burn marks and residue. Stansberry was taken into custody for simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia, DUI, and implied consent violation.

31-year-old Amy Matthews was involved in a domestic altercation with her husband, Alex Matthews, at her Cindy Jo Court residence on June 29th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Alex, who claimed an argument occurred because he found out Amy was talking to another man. Alex informed officers that, after this, they both began arguing before it turned physical when Amy attempted to grab Alex’s phone. Amy proceeded to slap Alex multiple times on the leg while yelling, “he hit me.” Alex provided officers with footage of the incident that he recorded. Amy Matthews was then deemed the primary aggressor, and she was then taken into custody for domestic assault on July 3rd.

22-year-old Carlos Moctezuma was involved in a domestic incident with his roommate, Tyler Devyn, at their Post’s Edge apartment on July 3rd. When officers arrived, Devyn told them that Moctezuma stabbed him with a knife while they were having an argument. Devyn stated that they had been having issues with activities in their apartment. Once he went inside Moctezuma’s room, Moctezuma stabbed him in the armpit with a small sword. Carlos Moctezuma was taken into custody for aggravated domestic assault.

21-year-old Jamee Leann Melton stole from Tyemick Wallace’s Feng Way residence on June 6th. On July 1st, Wallace went to the police and reported that Melton had been staying with him. When he left the house for an appointment, he returned and discovered his PlayStation 5 Slim, estimated to be worth $400, was missing. Melton was then taken into custody for theft on July 3rd.

DUI: Chelsea Wheeler crashes into ditch after three beers

34-year-old Chelsea Elizabeth Wheeler, a Home Depot employee, crashed her vehicle into a ditch near Denny Road and Ashland City Road at 10:40 p.m. on July 2nd. When officers arrived, they observed Wheeler standing outside of her car. When they approached her, they noticed she reeked of alcohol and had red, watery eyes before she admitted to having three beers. Wheeler consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly. After Wheeler was informed of implied consent, she provided a breath sample, resulting in 0.122 BAC%. Officers later discovered Wheeler had a suspended license and then detained her for the occurrence. Wheeler was taken into custody for driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.

27-year-old Ryan Brown was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend on the way to a doctor’s appointment for their child on June 26th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Brown’s girlfriend. She stated that Brown was upset they were taking their child to a doctor’s appointment. According to her, Brown got upset with her on the way to the clinic and started yelling at her. While Brown was driving, he turned around, pulled her hair, spit on her, and punched her in the face multiple times. Brown was later taken into custody and charged with domestic assault on June 27th.

20-year-old Tristan Rittenhouse was involved in an altercation with his roommate Nathanael Thompson at their Hot Shot Drive residence on the afternoon of June 30th. When deputies arrived, Thompson told them that Rittenhouse grabbed a pocket knife on the kitchen table and held it against his neck. Thompson stated that the altercation stemmed from him attempting to grab his belongings. Rittenhouse refused to speak with authorities and was taken into custody for aggravated domestic assault.
