Raquel Brooks charged after lying to police about shooting himself in the leg

27-year-old Raquel Brooks was caught giving officers a false statement on July 22nd at the Tennova Hospital. On the mentioned date, Brooks was transported to the Tennova Hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg. The wound entered near his groin and out of his hamstring. Officers spoke with Brooks to question him about his injuries. Brooks reported that an unknown individual shot him while he was working on his vehicle on Sambar Drive. While Brooks was being treated, his pants were collected. Once officers observed Brooks’ pants, they found that there wasn’t an entry hole where Brooks was shot. During the investigation of the incident, officers were able to find video footage from a residence near where the shooting took place. In the video, officers were able to hear Brooks saying that he shot himself and needed someone to take him to the hospital. During this, officers also found that Brooks had COR on file, which prevented him from possessing a firearm during the time of the incident. Brooks was later taken into custody and charged with contempt violation and making a false report on August 17th.

Antranice Phillips steals $480 worth of Nike Air Force 1s from Dick’s Sporting Goods

26-year-old Antranice Phillips and Jada Banks were caught stealing from the Dick’s Sporting Goods on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on August 15th. Phillips and Banks were observed going inside the store and asking an associate for seven pairs of Nike Air Force 1s. The store’s employees stated they watched Phillips and Banks conceal two pairs of Air Force 1s in a bag and then walk out. Phillips and Banks later returned to the store and took two more pairs of Air Force 1s. The total worth of the shoes stolen was valued at $480. A warrant was then filed for their arrest that day. Phillips was later found and taken into custody for theft of property on August 16th.

Francisca Peace violates conditions of release after slapping ex-boyfriend in Winner’s Circle Motel parking lot

24-year-old Francisca Peace was involved in a domestic incident with her ex-boyfriend, Tyemick Wallace, at the Winner’s Circle Motel parking lot on July 6th. When officers arrived and spoke with Wallace, who said he was with Peace at the parking lot mentioned. Wallace stated that once he started talking with Peace, they got into an argument. Wallace said this led to Peace slapping him in the face. Officers checked NCIC and found that Peace had an active COR with Wallace listed as one of the protected parties. Officers were unable to meet with Peace at the time of the incident. Peace was later found and served her criminal warrant for domestic assault and contempt violation on August 16th.

Bradley McCreery charges man $2,600 for new transmission despite not replacing it

47-year-old Bradley Owen McCreery fraudulently billed Pierce Curren at A Plus Auto & Diesel & Transmission Shop on March 8th. On May 17th, Curren told the police that he had taken his truck to A Plus Auto & Diesel & Transmission Shop for repairs on January 30th, January 28th, March 8th, and April 3rd. Curren added that they billed him $2,600 on the third visit to change the transmission. Then, after the fourth visit, Curren returned to the shop because he was having issues with the newly replaced transmission. The dealership advised Curren that his vehicle still had the old transmission and confirmed it by the factory’s serial number. Curren further explained that he dealt with McCreery every visit and had a receipt stating that they had replaced the old transmission with a newer, used transmission. A warrant was then issued for McCreery’s arrest that day. McCreery was later taken into custody for theft on August 16th.

Dwight Eversole grabs investigator by the nuts on Rotary Park walking trail

59-year-old Dwight Allen Eversole inappropriately touched a law enforcement investigator, Dustin Evans, at a Rotary Park walking trail on August 16th. Investigator Evans stated that he was walking along the trail when a white male wearing blue jeans and a tan shirt with cut-off sleeves, later identified as Eversole, was walking in front of him. According to Evans, Eversole had walked behind a tree. As Evans approached, Eversole came around the tree while rubbing his groin area. Then, Evans stated that Eversole approached him and grabbed his groin area. After this, Evans presented his law enforcement badge and detained Eversole for the incident. Eversole was taken into custody for sexual battery.

Eric McCoin jailed after hiding gun he used in July 28th shooting at Lyric’s Lounge

48-year-old Eric Dewayne McCoin, an employee of Razorsharp Barbershop, was identified as a person involved in a shooting at Lyric’s Lounge late July 28th. The police report stated that 911 was called shortly after to investigate a possible homicide. Tikoreus Gold, McCoin’s son, and Raquel Brooks were shot. Gold succumbed to his wounds at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. On July 29th, around midnight, officers interviewed McCoin, who was at the scene of the shooting. However, he did not mention him shooting anyone or even having a gun. On July 31st, the police interviewed security guards from the location, Michael Johnson and Gregory Forrest, who also did not say anything about receiving a gun from McCoin. Then, on August 7th, McCoin was interviewed again because a small holster was found in his vehicle. During the interview, McCoin stated that he shot at Brooks with his .380 pistol and gave the gun to Johnson. A warrant was then issued for McCoin’s arrest on August 14th. McCoin was later taken into custody for tampering with evidence on August 16th.

24-year-old Dalberto Rodriguez, an employee of the US Government, was seen stumbling down the sidewalk on College Street at 4 a.m. on August 16th. Officers observed this and made contact with Rodriguez. Officers noted that Rodriguez had a strong smell of alcohol on his person and was showing signs of intoxication. Rodriguez told officers he had just left a local bar and had consumed six beers. Officers deemed that Rodriguez was a danger to himself, so he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

53-year-old Nolan Keatts Jr. was involved in a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Rhonda Byard, at their Old Sango Road residence on August 15th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Byard. She stated while she was getting ready for bed, Keatts Jr. came into their bedroom drunk and causing issues. Once Keatts Jr. approached Byard, he pushed her onto the bed and then started strangling her. Byard told officers that she attempted to go outside, but Keatts Jr. pushed her to the ground. She added that this caused bruising to her elbow. Byard then stated that she tried calling her daughter or neighbor for help, but nobody came. Keatts Jr. was later found and taken into custody for aggravated domestic assault on August 16th.

DUI: Melissa Johnson swerves between lanes on Peachers Mill Road after having 2-3 shots of Cognac

On August 15th, 48-year-old Melissa Johnson was stopped in her Subaru Outback after crossing over the fog line multiple times on Peachers Mill Road. Once officers made contact with Johnson, they reported that they noticed the strong smell of alcohol coming from her. Officers noted that she was also showing several signs of intoxication. After being asked if she had drunk anything, Johnson admitted that she had consumed 2-3 shots of Cognac before driving. Johnson performed sobriety tests and performed poorly, showing signs of impairment. Johnson was then taken into custody. During an arrest search of Johnson’s car, officers located a plastic baggie containing marijuana. A check of Johnson’s license also revealed that it had been suspended for failing to provide proof of insurance on August 4th. Johnson was then transported to booking and charged with driving under the influence, simple possession, and driving on a suspended license on August 16th.

Dazon Caudle throws smoothie at sister during argument over his cleanliness

24-year-old Dazon Caudle was involved in an altercation with his sister, Tatyana Caudle, at their Winters Terrace Lane on August 11th. When officers arrived and spoke with Tatyana, she explained how the incident had started. Tatyana stated that when she saw her brother, she began an argument about him and his girlfriend cleaning after themselves. According to Tatyana, Dazon became hostile and upset once she told him that it was her house and that he needed to abide by her rules. Tatyana stated that Dazon started following her around the house, yelling and cursing. Tatyana then told him that he and his girlfriend needed to leave. This ultimately resulted in Dazon and his girlfriend chasing Tatyana out the front door. Tatyana told officers that during this, she was able to make a dash back inside and lock the door behind her, leaving her brother and his girlfriend outside. Tatyana told officers that once they were locked out, Dazon attempted to break one of her windows before his girlfriend was able to get the door opened. Once Dazon was back inside, he grabbed a blender cup containing a smoothie and threw it at Tatyana. Dazon after the altercation, but he was later found and charged with domestic assault on August 17th.

38-year-old Cedric Thomas was involved in a car crash on Highway 76 on August 17th. When officers made contact with Thomas, they observed that he smelled like an alcoholic beverage and was showing signs of intoxication. After agreeing to sobriety tests, Thomas showed several signs of impairment. Once officers read Thomas implied consent, he refused to provide them with any chemical sample, so he was taken into custody. While searching Thomas’s vehicle, officers found an empty can of Corona beer in his driver-side door. Thomas was later transported to booking and charged with driving under the influence and implied consent violation.

23-year-old Anitra Turner was caught shoplifting at Five Below on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on October 6th, 2023. Officers arrived and made contact with the store’s loss prevention worker. They stated that a black female had entered the store and concealed two phone cases and a screen protector in her purse. The female was then observed exiting the store and leaving in a blue Toyota SUV. The loss prevention employee informed officers that they saw the female signing a petition outside the store for registering to vote in Tennessee. The black female wrote her name down as Anitra Turner. Officers later met with Turner’s mother, Tina Velazquez, after locating the Toyota SUV at her Dawn Ridge Court residence. While officers spoke with Velazquez, she confirmed that the woman in the video was Turner. Turner was later found and served her criminal warrant for theft of property on August 17th.

Jeremy Rugante rolls around road screaming while tweaking on heroin

37-year-old Jeremy Rugante was seen rolling around screaming in the middle of the road on Providence Pointe on August 17th. Once officers observed this, they attempted to make contact with Rugante. Officers reported that when they approached Rugante, they noticed that he had difficulty staying focused and that he was involuntarily jerking. After receiving Rugante’s consent, officers searched Rugante’s belongings. Officers found a small black baggie containing heroin, a glass pipe with residue, and burnt tin foil. Rugante was then taken into custody and charged with simple possession, public intoxication, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rachel Bachorik kicks ex-boyfriend in the nuts twice during argument at 5 A.M.

32-year-old Rachel Renee Bachorik was involved in a domestic incident with her ex-boyfriend, Cheyenne Pipkin, at his Antioch Road residence on August 14th. Officers made contact with Pipkin, who informed them that he was only ever in a short-term sexual relationship with Bachorik, which recently ended. Pipkin told officers that Bachorik came uninvited to his house at around 5:00 a.m., which led to him confronting her. This confrontation led to an argument. During the argument, it appeared like Bachorik was going to leave after getting her belongings from Pipkins’s house. However, as Bachorik put her items in her car, she began kicking a vehicle in the driveway. Pipkin then went into the driveway to tell Bachorik to stop hitting the car. In response, Bachorik approached Pipkin and started hitting him in the face and head. Pipkin noted that she also kicked him twice in the groin. While officers were still on the scene, Bachorik returned to Pipkin’s house and told them she had kicked the car’s door handle. Bachorik also admitted to getting into a fight with Pipkin. Bachorik was then taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

37-year-old Heather Canfora got into an altercation with her boyfriend, Jon Proctor, at their Hawkins Road residence on August 15th. When officers arrived and made contact with Jon, who explained that while Heather was day drinking, she became violent. Jon informed officers that Heather began to go around the house and start damaging property. When Jon confronted her about the damage, Heather began hitting and kicking him. After talking with Proctor, officers were able to talk to Jon’s father, Fred Proctor, who witnessed the incident. Fred told officers that he saw Heather hitting his son and that he saw her throw a beer bottle at him. When officers spoke to Heather about the incident, they reported that she was upset and had a strong odor of alcohol on her. Officers also reported that Heather would not answer any questions. Officers noted that Heather continued to argue that Jon was on drugs and would not explain what happened. Heather Canfora was then taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Damien Brown assaults girlfriend, breaks her phone after finding evidence of her cheating

20-year-old Damien Brown was involved in a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Sabrina Gillard, at their Calumet Court apartment on August 15th. Officers arrived at Brown’s apartment and had a conversation about the incident. Brown told officers that he had found suspicious text messages inside Gillard’s phone that showed evidence of cheating. Brown stated that when he brought this to Gillard’s attention, she asked for her phone back. Brown told Gilliard he refused to return her phone. According to Brown, once Gillard reached for her phone, all he did was shove her. When officers made contact with Gillard, she told them that the argument she was having with Brown quickly turned physical. Gillard stated that during the argument pushed her onto their bed. Gillard told officers that once she got her phone back from Brown, he started following her around the apartment to get her phone back. Once Gillard returned to the bedroom, she locked the door. Brown then kicked the door down and pushed her back onto the bed. They struggled over the phone while Gillard was on the bed until Brown got it back. He then threw the phone onto the floor. Officers observed that this caused $200 worth of damage to her phone. Officers also observed swelling under Gillard’s eye and a contusion on her shoulder, so they deemed Brown the primary aggressor. Brown was taken into custody for domestic assault and vandalism.

25-year-old Gabriel Dixon, an employee of Loser’s Bar & Grill, got into a fight with his ex-girlfriend, Tamisha Brown, at their Northeast Drive apartment on August 11th. When officers arrived and spoke with Brown, she stated that during an argument, she went into their bedroom closet to get some clothes. While Brown was inside the closet, Dixon followed behind her, closed the door, and locked it. Brown told officers that while they were in the closet, Dixon started getting in her face and then forcefully tried to take her car keys. This started a wrestling match over Brown’s keys, leading to her shoe coming off. Dixon then grabbed Brown’s shoe and threw it at her, effectively hitting her in the head. Officers determined that Dixon was the primary aggressor. Dixon was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and false imprisonment.

23-year-old Naj’ee Carter was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, David Dubal, on August 10th. When officers made contact with Dubal, he told them that Carter had hit him and had thrown wine at him. Dubal informed officers that this was when Carter started hitting him. While Carter was hitting him, Dubal stated that he was able to bear-hug her and place her outside his apartment. A witness from across the street told officers that they observed Carter pounding on Dubal’s door. The witness stated that once Dubal opened the door, Carter started scratching at him and punching him in the face. When officers spoke with Carter about the incident, she stated that Dubal followed her around the apartment while they were arguing. Carter noted that Dubal would not leave her alone, so she threw wine at him to get him away from her. Carter stated that once she threw the wine, Dubal pushed her against a wall, picked her up, brought her outside, and locked her out. Officers determined that Carter was the primary aggressor, so she was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

DUI: Tyler Farrow speeds down Madison Street at 63 mph in his Ford F-150

30-year-old Tyler Jordan Farrow was speeding in his Ford F-150 on Madison Street late August 12th. Patrolling officers observed Farrow going 63 mph in a 35 mph zone and conducted a traffic stop. As officers spoke with Farrow, they noticed he showed signs of impairment and reeked of alcohol. When prompted, Farrow consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. After being informed of implied consent, Farrow refused to provide a chemical sample. In response, the police obtained a warrant for Farrow’s blood sample and transported him to the Sango ER, where he still declined to give them the sample. Officers later discovered that Farrow had a prior DUI conviction and a suspended license as of October 19th, 2022, for failing to pay fines. Farrow was taken into custody for tampering with evidence, speeding, driving under the influence, and driving on a suspended license on August 13th.

40-year-old Matthew Look was seen driving recklessly around Rhonda The Roundabout on Needmore Road in his 2019 Honda Fit at 11:13 p.m. on August 12th. When officers arrived, they observed that Look was unsteady on his feet while leaving his vehicle. As officers spoke with Look, they reported that he showed multiple signs of impairment. When asked, Look admitted that he had “five or six” drinks two hours before he started driving. After Look showed several signs of impairment, he was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence on August 13th.
