Eric McCoin jailed after hiding gun he used in July 28th shooting at Lyric’s Lounge

48-year-old Eric Dewayne McCoin, an employee of Razorsharp Barbershop, was identified as a person involved in a shooting at Lyric’s Lounge late July 28th. The police report stated that 911 was called shortly after to investigate a possible homicide. Tikoreus Gold, McCoin’s son, and Raquel Brooks were shot. Gold succumbed to his wounds at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. On July 29th, around midnight, officers interviewed McCoin, who was at the scene of the shooting. However, he did not mention him shooting anyone or even having a gun.

On July 31st, the police interviewed security guards from the location, Michael Johnson and Gregory Forrest, who also did not say anything about receiving a gun from McCoin. Then, on August 7th, McCoin was interviewed again because a small holster was found in his vehicle. During the interview, McCoin stated that he shot at Brooks with his .380 pistol and gave the gun to Johnson. A warrant was then issued for McCoin’s arrest on August 14th. McCoin was later taken into custody for tampering with evidence on August 16th.

Eric Dewayne McCoin of Andrew Drive in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on August 16th, charged with tampering with evidence. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $50,000.
