Jamie Stewart rams into girlfriend’s car during argument

45-year-old Jamie Stewart was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, Ashton Botelho, at Derby Drive on March 14th. When officers arrived, they contacted Botelho inside her car on Keyland Drive, a street away from her residence. Botelho told officers that she pulled into their driveway and argued with Stewart. Stewart yelled at her, got into his truck, and rammed into the front passenger side of Botelho’s car while she was still inside the vehicle. Stewart then fled the scene in his truck. Botelho attempted to follow him while on the phone with law enforcement, but Stewart turned around on Keyland Drive and started yelling at her. That is when Botelho stopped and waited for officers to arrive.

The Emergency 911 call-taker told officers that they heard Stewart yelling in the background of their call with Botelho. During the investigation of the incident, law enforcement spoke with Barbara Davis, Stewart’s mother and the legal guardian of the children that Stewart and Botelho share. Davis stated that she was not aware of the crash, but she did take notice when the children ran inside crying following the couple’s argument. Davis also shared that Stewart and Botelho have a history of domestic violence with each other. Stewart’s truck was located outside a house on Emory Street. When officers knocked on the door, they waited for someone to answer, but nobody came to the door. Jamie Stewart was taken into custody and charged with aggravated domestic assault, driving without a driver’s license, and leaving the scene of an incident with damage on April 29th.
