DUI: Charles Garret caught with handgun during traffic stop over illegal tint

22-year-old Charles Garret was pulled over on June 2nd for an illegal tint on his white Honda sedan on I-24. Officers made contact and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached Garret. While speaking to Garret, officers observed a Glock 17 handgun at his feet. Garret agreed to sobriety tests but showed signs of intoxication, so he was taken into custody and read implied consent. After refusing to provide a blood sample, Garret was transported to booking and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, window tint, and implied consent violation.

Charles Keshawn Garret of Fairview Drive in Hopkinsville, KY, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on June 2nd, charged with DUI and possession of a handgun while under the influence, window tint, and implied consent violation. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $5,000.
