60-year-old Roland Taylor was caught driving under the influence near Wendy’s on Riverside Drive on May 28th. Callers informed officers of a vehicle driving under the speed limit, swerving all over the road. Another caller told officers that the vehicle bumped into the rear of her vehicle in the Wendy’s drive-thru. Taylor then fled the scene before being followed by the victim to a Dollar General near Edmondson Ferry Road. Officers then made contact with Taylor, who had his head slumped down and appeared to be sleeping. While officers were talking with Taylor, officers could smell the odor of alcohol emitting from him before noticing his slurred speech and watery eyes. Taylor could not complete sobriety tests due to his disability. Taylor also admitted to officers to drinking one 24oz Four Loko, which officers spotted in the rear seat of the vehicle. Taylor was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and having an open container of alcohol.
Roland Fenton Taylor of Kingsbury Dr in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on May 28th, charged with driving under the influence, open container, and an implied consent violation. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,500.
