Roger Messenger places gun next to wife during argument, tells her “Do what you gotta do”

54-year-old Roger Alton Messenger, a Buffalo Valley Inc. employee, had a domestic incident with his wife, Cira Salazar, at their Sugarcane Way residence late June 9th. When officers arrived, Messenger told them that during his and Salazar’s dispute, he removed his Walther 9mm handgun from his nightstand, placed it next to her, and said, “Do what you gotta do.” Salazar corroborated his statement, adding that she feared for her life after he displayed the weapon. He stated he intended to entice her into using the gun on him. Messenger was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for aggravated assault on June 10th.

Roger Alton Messenger of Sugarcane Way in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on June 10th, charged with aggravated assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000.
