When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with both Davis and O’Neil, who had two different stories of what happened. After an investigation and questioning, officers determined that Davis had started the fight and argument with O’Neil over prior events. According to officers, Davis became upset and began to hit O’Neil repeatedly. Davis then took O’Neil’s phone and threw it against a wall, causing a hole in the wall. Officers then spoke with O’Neil again, who stated that while being choked, she began to lose consciousness, using her phone to hit Davis in the head to remove her. O’Neil also claims that Davis stopped her from calling 911 several times. This prompted O’Neil to call her sister for help to get in contact with the police. Davis was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for aggravated assault and interfering with an emergency call on May 16th.
