Ka’Bari Carr assaults multiple officers in courthouse after they discover out-of-state warrant

20-year-old Ka’Bari Ja-Quez Carr had an altercation with officers at the courthouse in downtown Clarksville on July 11th. Officers were informed of Carr’s location outside the courtroom after confirming he had an outstanding warrant from another state for his arrest. Upon learning this, officers tried to detain him.

Carr was sitting on a bench before suddenly jumping up and punching Corporal Rudder on top of his head. Then, Carr became resistive, pulling away from assisting officers and disregarding their commands. Carr also spat on Deputy Dennis, leaving saliva on his glasses. Rudder was transported via ambulance for further evaluation following the incident. The entire incident was recorded via security cameras. Carr was then taken into custody for two counts of assault on an officer and resisting arrest.

Ka’Bari Ja-Quez Carr of Forge Road in Dover, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on July 11, charged with violation of probation, assault against 1st responder, resisting arrest and fugitive wanted by another state. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $305,000.
