Ricky Riggs steals $2,522 worth of portable A/C Units from Lowe’s

32-year-old Ricky Riggs was apprehended for theft from two different Lowe’s stores between June 8th and July 9th. On July 10th, Shawn Worley, a loss prevention officer at Lowe’s, reported to the authorities that on June 8th, Riggs had stolen from the store. Worley alleged that Riggs had entered the Lowe’s on Lowes Drive, selected a portable Hisense A/C unit valued at $480, and left through the main exit without paying.

Another loss prevention employee, Jack Rutherford, reported that on July 8th, Riggs entered the same Lowe’s and took 2 Hisense portable A/C units, valued at $480 each, to the garden center. However, Rutherford stopped Riggs before he could leave and retrieved the A/C units before Riggs fled the scene. On July 9th, officers responded to a shoplifting call at Lowe’s on Madison Street and spoke with Worley, who identified Riggs stealing again. Riggs was seen on footage loading a cart with items valued at $1082.96 and pushing the cart out when the exit was busy. A warrant was issued for Riggs’s arrest, and he was taken into custody for three counts of property theft on July 11th.
