Shamar Ricketts tells University Landing employee “You don’t want these problems”

28-year-old Shamar Owen Ricketts threatened Quentin Jones at the University Landing apartments at 12:56 p.m. on June 12th. Jones, an employee at the location, called 911, stating that he spoke to a black male wearing an olive green shirt and jeans, later identified as Ricketts. Jones noted that he told Ricketts he was trespassing and could not be on the property. During their interaction, Jones said Ricketts had become aggressive and told him, “You don’t want these problems.” Ricketts pointed at him and pulled up his shirt, revealing a black handgun. Jones told officers that this caused him to fear for his safety and the people inside the building. While officers were at the location, they encountered Ricketts near Main Street and 5th Street. After officers conducted a show-up, Jones identified him as the person in question. Ricketts was taken into custody for aggravated assault.
