25-year-old Alexa Smith was involved in a domestic altercation with her husband, Jonathan Smith, on August 4th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Jonathan. He stated that his wife, Alexa, had come to his residence. Jonathan stated Alexa had put him in fear for his life by picking up an axe and swinging it over her shoulder as if she was going to hit him. Jonathan informed the officers that he took the axe out of her hands when it was over her shoulder. After this, Jonathan alleged that Alexa entered his vehicle to locate a car seat.
When Alexa attempted to take the car seat out, she hit Jonathan with it. Jonathan claims he does not know if it was intentional or accidental but still told the officers. Officers then made contact with Alexa at her residence. She admitted to picking up the axe but claimed she put it down immediately when she realized what it was. Alexa also admitted to officers that she hit Jonathan with the car seat accidentally because he was standing right behind her when she was taking it out. Officers deemed Alexa to be the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Alexa Nikole Smith was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on August 4th, charged with domestic assault. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $1,000.
