34-year-old Derick Deates was seen assaulting his arresting officer at booking on July 27th. That day, Deates was on his way to jail, facing a criminal trespassing charge. Deates was reported to be “expressing his rage” at his arresting officer during the ride. When Deates arrived at the jail, he resisted the officers’ instructions.
Eventually, Deates decided to follow his arresting officer inside. Once Deates was inside the booking area, he was prompted to sit on a metal bench; however, he refused. As the arresting officer attempted to escort Deates to the bench, Deates suddenly turned around and headbutted the officer in his chin. Deates was then detained and charged with assault against a first responder.
Derick Deates of Kennedy Lane in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on July 27th, charged with criminal trespass and assault on first responder. a judicial commissioner set his bond at $5,500.
