James Justice assaults girlfriend for not letting him drive while drunk

32-year-old James Justice was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Katelin Bennett, while at a Paddock Place Apartment on Union Hall Road on August 2nd. When the officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with Bennett. She informed them that Justice had been drinking all night, and the two began arguing over his behavior. Bennett told the officers that Justice grabbed her keys and went outside to attempt to drive away.

She claimed she tried to grab the keys from the ignition, but Justice grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the vehicle. He then grabbed her by the throat and pushed her away. When the officers tried to speak with Justice, he refused and was taken into custody. While moving him into the patrol car, he refused to get in. Justice then had to be forced into the vehicle by police. Justice was then transported, and upon arrival at booking, officers went to let him out of the car. When they opened the door, Justice kicked it open, striking the officers. Justice was later charged with assault against a first responder, resisting arrest, and domestic assault on August 3rd.
