Ashley Phillips strangles, threatens girlfriend with pocket knife after going through her phone

23-year-old Ashley Phillips was involved in a domestic altercation with her girlfriend after she looked through her phone at a Westfield Court apartment on July 12th. When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the victim, who claimed she had gotten into an altercation with Phillips. She stated Phillips had gone through her phone and found several messages she did not like. The victim informed officers that the argument continued, and Phillips began taking things out of the victim’s wallet.

After this, they both began shoving each other. The victim claimed that Phillips pulled out a pocket knife, pointed it at her, and told the victim to get out of the apartment. The victim informed officers that sometime during the altercation, Phillips had pinned her onto the couch and started strangling her. She was able to push Phillips off, but officers noticed marks and bruises on her neck that were consistent with her being strangled. Phillips was deemed the primary aggressor, and she was then taken into custody for aggravated assault.
