Crystal Eads booked after attempting to sell stolen iPhone at an EcoATM

41-year-old Crystal Eads was seen trying to unlock a stolen phone at Best Buy on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on June 15th. An Employee of Best Buy had called to report that an iPhone was turned in at the service desk by Eads so that they could unlock the phone. The employee informed the officers that Eads would return to pick up the phone in two hours. While employees were unlocking the phone, it was flagged as stolen. The phone was reported stolen the previous day, and officers obtained surveillance footage of Eads attempting to pawn the phone at the EcoATM at the Kroger on Dover crossing.

After Eads returned to Best Buy, officers made contact with her. She claimed that she bought the phone from a stranger for 20 dollars. Eads later admitted to officers that she had picked up the phone at Walmart, where the theft had been reported the previous day. Officers noticed that Eads also matched the individual in the footage of the person attempting to pawn the phone and was wearing the same sunglasses at the time of the arrest. Eads was then taken into custody and charged with property theft.
