David Jones caught marijuana & magic mushrooms after traffic stop for illegal tint

On April 26th, 25-year-old David Jones was stopped in his 2013 Volkswagen Passat for an illegal tint. While tailing Jones, officers found that the license plate on his car did not belong to his Volkswagen. Officers approached his vehicle and noticed a strong odor of marijuana. This led to officers searching the vehicle and locating five tied-off sandwich bags containing marijuana, a bag of suspected psilocybin aka magic mushrooms, a THC vape, five THC vape cartridges, and a pack of rolling papers. A search of Jones’s person led to officers finding an iPhone and $761.00 in cash. After being read his Miranda rights, Jones invoked his right to his attorney. A check of Jones’s license revealed that it had been suspended for failing to provide insurance on September 8th, 2023. The weight of the marijuana was weighed at 14.175 grams. David Jones was taken into custody and charged with drug paraphernalia, a suspended license, and wrongful demonstration of registration plates on April 27th.
