DUI: Ericka Jones projectile vomits in police car after crashing into ditch at O’Connor’s Pub

27-year-old Ericka Lisset Jones crashed her silver Toyota Corolla in the ditch in front of O’Connor’s Pub on Tylertown Road in the early hours of August 5th. While officers were on the way, the complainant advised them that they observed a Hispanic female with a brownish skirt and black top, later identified as Jones, getting out of the crashed Toyota and walking towards the establishment. When the police arrived, they located Jones in the O’Connor’s parking lot, matching their provided description. Officers discovered that she was the registered owner of the disabled Toyota Corolla. During their interaction, officers noticed she reeked of alcohol, showed signs of intoxication, and had difficulty answering their questions. Griffin Woolley, an employee at the location, said she saw Jones leave the Toyota after the crash. Then, Jones refused to take sobriety tests and was detained for the occurrence. After this, officers searched her Toyota and found a nearly empty Don Julio Tequila bottle in its rear driver’s side. Jones was read implied consent and agreed to provide a blood sample. While being transported to Sango Emergency Room for the blood draw, Jones projectile vomited inside the officers’ patrol vehicle. The police had to use personal protective equipment to clean the mess, which cost approximately $25. When they got to the Sango ER, Jones denied consent, and officers had to obtain a warrant for a sample. Jones was taken into custody for driving under the influence, vandalism, and an open container violation.
