James Tummins flees from police after breaking into someone’s camper

26-year-old James Tummins was seen attempting to break into someone’s Dean Road residence on June 16th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with the victim of the crime, who showed officers where Tummins came onto her porch and attempted to make entry by using the door handle to open and push it open. The victim told officers that Tummins then proceeded to take several items from her porch and walk out of her camera’s view. While officers were on the scene, they observed a camper in the front yard with a side window knocked out, and the items Tummins had taken were left in the front yard. Officers also noticed Tummins walking from behind the victim’s home and running away on foot when officers gave him commands. Tummins was then tackled by officers and placed on the ground under arrest. Moments later, Tummins admitted to knocking out the windows of the camper and was taken into custody for aggravated burglary, evading arrest, and vandalism.
