Lashawn King crashes man’s car after stealing keys while he was asleep

33-year-old LaShawn King was taken into custody for motor vehicle theft on May 23rd. On January 10th, 2019, Antonio Hopkins went to the Clarksville Police Department, where he spoke with officers, advising them that on December 31st, 2018, King called him, stating he had wrecked his vehicle and was being arrested.

Hopkins spoke with a Metro Nashville Police Officer, who informed him that his vehicle was totaled and would be towed after King drunkenly wrecked it. Hopkins explained to CPD officers that King had stayed at his house that night, adding that he did not allow King to drive his car, but his keys were accessible while he was sleeping. Hopkinsā€™s vehicle is valued at around $5,000. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was later detained for the incident.
