DUI: Patience Buries drives onto person’s front yard with 3 wheels after crashing her car

42-year-old Patience Buries was caught driving under the influence after a car accident at the intersection of Whitfield Road and Blakemore Drive on July 7th. Officers later found that the accident occurred near a home on Whitfield Road. When they arrived, they observed tire marks in the front yard of the residence. Officers spoke with the residents of the home who informed them that a white sedan had driven into their yard and taken off on three wheels. Officers also located a white rear bumper and a Toyota wheel with the tire on at the scene. Officers then searched the area and located a Toyota missing its left rear wheel as well as a rear bumper at a Prewitt Lane Apartment. Officers observed Buries standing near the vehicle and walking into the apartment near where the vehicle was. Officers then approached Buries, and immediately noticed her slurred speech, and watery eyes. Buries, while reeking of alcohol, admitted to officers that she was driving the vehicle. Officers observed Buries to have slow and lethargic movements before she admitted to consuming one to two alcoholic beverages of tequila in Nashville prior to driving home. Buries then performed sobriety tests; however, she performed poorly and showed numerous indicators of intoxication. Officers deemed Buries to be intoxicated, and she was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and leaving the scene with damage.
